The ‘Ganghofersiedlung’ was built under the National Socialists as ‘Siedlung Göring-Heim’ for the members of the ‘Messerschmidtwerke’ into the 1930 years. The strongly rehabilitation needy settlement houses are under ensemble and protection of historical monuments.
To leave the existing house still free, German Fabi Architekten studio has built an transparent and structural supporting glasstransit. Just like a bridge between existing house and new building. The glass joint functions as a visual separation at a simultaneous functional connection. The complete siding of the settlement-house remains of the outside visibly, the building got completely in his proportion
The individual rooms are located with the small rooms and the reduced windows in the existing house. The building extension contrasts with it’s airy, oppend, huge living-,cooking and eating area. There therefore are in small pieces, comfortable areas, and modern, generous living situations immediate besides each other.
