Shelter is a simple, characterful lamp that emits a cosy light onto its surroundings. The conical shape of its foot and rounded shade provide a soft and friendly feel adding a delightful contrast to the clean and sharp lines of the lamp. Shelter was designed by the Danish design duo Holmb채ckNordentoft for Normann Copenhagen and is available as both a table and floor lamp.

Shelter is a play on both proportions and details. The white inner side of the shade provides a reflective effect while its wide, curved shape goes to direct the light making it pleasant and anti-dazzling.

Holmb채ckNordentoft say: 쒿he idea came from speculating about how one could create a visual connection between the lead and the lamp. A lead is a necessary evil. How could we make a necessity into a virtue? That’s when we got the idea for the curved opening in the bottom of the lamp and the brass detail, which became a main feature of the overall feel of the lamp.

Shelter was presented on the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2013 at Salone del Mobile.
